Sun peaks canada activities, restaurants, Apres. Where to drink, where do i eat, what can i do. What activities can i do. Best pizza i have ever eaton. my personal experience.

What to do when you are not skiing.

I am not sure where to start with this because there is so much fun to be had in Sun Peaks.

Beyond the Slopes

One of the things I love most about Sun Peaks is that there really is something for everyone. Whether you're a passionate skier, travelling with non-skiers, or simply fancy taking a day off the mountain, you'll never be short of things to do.

For me, the perfect day starts on the slopes and finishes with a well-earned après-ski. Most bars and restaurants offer fantastic après deals between 3pm and 5pm, making it the perfect excuse to unwind after a day of skiing. One of my favourite spots is Bottoms Bar & Grill, which has daily drink specials worth checking out. If you're there on a Wednesday, you're in luck – think half-price bottles of wine and $9 spritzes!

If skiing isn't your thing, or you'd like to mix up your holiday with a few different experiences, Sun Peaks offers plenty of winter activities, including:

  • ❄️ Snowshoeing

  • 🛷 Dog sledding

  • 🐎 Horse-drawn sleigh rides

  • 🛵 Snowmobiling

  • ⛸️ Outdoor ice skating

  • 🛷 Snow tubing at the Tube Park

  • 🚴 Fat biking on groomed winter trails

  • 🎣 Guided ice fishing

  • 🚠 Scenic chairlift rides (weather permitting)

  • 🧖 Spa treatments and wellness experiences

  • 🛍️ Shopping in the pedestrian village

  • 🍽️ Fantastic restaurants, cafés and cosy pubs

  • 🍺 Après-ski with live music and entertainment

  • 🔥 Relaxing in outdoor hot tubs with mountain views

  • 📸 Winter photography and sightseeing

  • 🎄 Seasonal events including Christmas celebrations, fireworks and torchlight parades

My Favourite Experience

One of the highlights of my visit was the Fondue Dinner and Night Ski experience. At first, the idea of enjoying a delicious fondue dinner, sharing a couple of bottles of wine, and then skiing down a mountain in the dark with only a head torch sounded slightly questionable! Thankfully, it turned out to be one of the most memorable evenings of the trip.

The evening begins with a fantastic fondue meal in a cosy mountain restaurant before making your way back down a beautifully groomed green run under the stars. Don't worry – it's suitable for confident beginners and there are plenty of stops along the way to admire the incredible night sky (and make sure nobody has wandered off!). Since Covid, the dining has moved from communal tables to individual seating, making it an even more intimate and romantic experience for couples.

Where to Eat

Now, let's talk about Mountain High Pizza.

I don't say this lightly—I eat a lot of pizza, and this is genuinely the best pizza I've ever had. Yes, really!

Not only is it absolutely delicious, but if you've had a long day on the slopes and don't fancy heading back out, you can order through their app and they'll deliver straight to your hotel door. Whenever I'm in Sun Peaks for a week, we end up eating there at least three times. It's that good.

Another firm favourite is The Magic Cattle Guard, which is around a 15-minute walk from the village along a beautifully lit pathway. It's a relaxed diner-style restaurant serving incredible burgers, loaded fries, comfort food and fantastic cocktails. Their margaritas are especially worth trying! Somehow, the walk back always seems much shorter than the walk there...

Whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, great food or a lively après-ski scene, Sun Peaks has it all. It's one of those rare resorts where every day can be completely different, making it the perfect destination for skiers and non-skiers alike.
